• We retreated to the sofa. We were a bit quieter now. Reminded that it wasn't over. Other than the shaking from the imbedded tree, the rattling from the wind seemed to be lessened. The wind-song had also decreased in intensity. Occasional gusts did shake the house but the frequency had decreased.
• Even though I had arms around each, what I really wanted was to be alone with June. Realized we couldn't have sex but I wasn't sure what the limits were. Didn't want to appear to be pushing Brandy away, especially since the hurricane was still very much in evidence. Surprised me when Brandy laid her head on my shoulder and put her other arm around my stomach. I understood this as an attempt to further apologize and to not let me get away from her. June seemed to understand as she put her hand over Brandy's and gave it a gentle squeeze. I just pulled both of them closer. That, of course, was interpreted by George as an invitation to jump onto the combined lap provided by June and me. Both June and Brandy were soon petting him, much to his purring pleasure.
